National Night Out

Last night was the National Night Out. It's a chance for people to get our of their homes, out of the front gate and spend time getting to know your neighbors. Ours was organized by our neighborhood watch leaders. It was so much fun! There was sweets all kinds of sweets, a children's bike parade, our neighborhood police office dropped by and let the kids play with the buttons in his car and a motorcycle officer came dropped by.

The party started before Kyle got home (he was bringing dinner with him) so our main course was ice cream, cookies and cake. ;) Then we had chicken and biscuits for desert.

When Lance (our neighborhood officer) showed up he blocked off the street for the children's parade. The parade turned into more of a race, but it was still soooo cute. After that he let the kids play with his car, siren, lights, and the loud speaker. I got Brian to say "watch my bobber!" CJ was too scared of Lance to go near him or his car.

Just as Lance was leaving, a motorcycle office showed up. Brian was allllll the way down at the end of the street when he saw him and he yelled "moto-cycle" so loud everyone heard him over the sounds of party and motorcycle! He was pretty dang excited. He rode his little bike over to the motorcycle, got off his bike and walked around the motorcycle very slowly checking it out.

All through the parade and fun with the police the Idaho Statesman was there to document our little party. The two pics I posted of CJ and Brian I took off of http://www.idahostatesman.com/
