Birthday Party
CJ and Brian went to a birthday party today at this really cool park. It has 2 gigantic play structures with a pirate theme and then there's a pretty big splash pad continuing with the pirate theme. There was a lot of water everywhere. I only got one picture of each kiddo, sorry. CJ loved the splash pad and Brian stuck to the play structures most the time. I slathered them both in 60SPF sunscreen every 30 minutes for about 3 hours and they both came home without any sunburns, even my whiter than white Brian! The party was a little bitter sweet. Sweet, because it was a great party! Bitter, because her friends are moving to another state. CJ wrote her address in the birthday card so that they can still exchange letters! She's so thoughtful!

Chopsticks
Brian loves chopsticks! While preparing our meals I've been asking Brian if he wants a fork or chopsticks. 9 times out of 10 Brian wants chopsticks. CJ only wants chopsticks when she's having sushi. He once tried talking me into cutting his pb&j sammy into little pieces so that he could use the chopsticks.

Reception with her girls, Kelly and MelissaToday was CJ's last day of school. They had a little graduation ceremony. She even received a certificate of completion. According to her "diploma" she majored in Computers and Minored in Lady Bugs. It was all just too cute! She was really sad to say good bye to her teachers for the summer. CJ and Brian both know that they will get to go to school after summer is over, which is after the fair, and after we eat all the yummy stuff out of our garden! Brian checks the garden every day looking for growth.

Monkey Dooz!
hmmmmm... Do I like my new hair?
Yes! I Do!I felt really bad after Brian's trip and fall yesterday. I thought maybe he's been tripping so much because he can't see where he's going through all his hair. I asked Brian if he wanted to go to Monkey Dooz, he agreed. First important decision was which car to sit in, the black hummer or the pink Jeep, he chose the Jeep. His next choice was short or long hair, he wanted to keep it long. He then got to pick a movie to watch during his cut, he chose Incredibles. Then finally the cut began! Is it just me or does his stylist look a lot like Suzi? Anyway, after the cut he wanted color. His choices were, green, pink, orange, red or purple. He picked purple, but with his white hair it turned out looking more pink. But he totally loves it! Good news, the color in his hair matches the buise on his head almost perfect!
Update!
This was a great week. I'm down an additional 2.6 pounds for a total of 18.6 pounds! I'm only 2 pounds away from my drivers licence weight! To be fair I got my licence renewed just after giving birth to Brian, the licence before that one was before I had CJ. When I was renewing it the lady said, "Is everything the same?" I thought about it for about half a second and then lied my face off and said, "Yup!" She didn't question me after that, so I figured it's a mistake everyone makes.
Yay for me! Hopefully next week I can brag that I am no longer a DMV liar!

Oh Summer!
When I was a child my summer bod, was scraped knees and elbows, bruised shins, and other random bumps and scrapes. Was it that way for everyone else? I'm already noticing CJ and Brian getting their summer bods. CJ fell on her bike and has a scraped elbow, and an assortment of bruises on her shins from??? She also walked into a tire swing today and has a bump under her left eye. Brian was just recovering from a scraped knee from a scooter accident, when today he was running down a friend's driveway tripped and skinned both knees and elbows and whacked his forehead on the pavement. I'm thinking of making their summer uniform swim suits with elbow pads, knee pads, and complete face mask with a helmet! They can't seem to go outside with out falling off of something or running into something. They must get their coordination from their Mother! The only pic I have is of Brian's forehead. Since I've taken this pic it's developed more of the black and blue color. It makes me sad.

Medusa Hair
I thought I would do something different for CJ's hair today. After she showered last night, I put in rag curls. I did it a little different, I twisted the hair first and wrapped it around the fabric in 8 shape. When I took them out this morning they totally reminded me of Medusa. CJ loved it. I took the front two curls, pulled them aside and clipped them with a giant pink bow. She bounced everywhere she walked and said, "Mom, my hair is so bouncy!"

This Isn't Moody, PMS-y Vamps, These Are Serious, Blood Thirsty Vamps
I love love love True Blood. I've read all the Sookie Stackhouse novels. I was excited as could be when I read that HBO was making them into a series. I came thisclose to ordering HBO just to watch it. I checked into the price, and thought I had better uses for that money. I did, however, immediately put a hold the the season 1 on Netflix. It finally was released on DVD this week and I'm almost done with season 1. I looooove it. Bill is perfect, exactly like the book. Sookie, perfect. Eric, perfect. Pam, perfect. Jason, perfect. Sam, perfect. Layfayett, perfect. Arlene, perfect. The cast is perfect, absolutely no complaints. Storyline, a little mixed. They have 9 books to draw inspiration from, there seems to be a little mixing story lines. Thank You HBO for paying attention to the details of the characters. The characters, make the story.

Update
It's Thursday, again. I'm not thrilled with this week's progress. I lost, not much. I lost 1.4 pounds, for a total of 16 pounds. Even though I'm not happy about what the scale told me today, I am not going to let it get me down. I have another whole week to improve. I feel good. I know that the choice I've made to make myself a priority is a good choice. I think making that choice, and holding myself accountable here has made a big difference in my life, even in just a few short 6 or 7 weeks. If I can do this much in 7 weeks, what can I do with 14? or 28? I'm just going to keep moving, and keep a good attitude.

My Oh My
Oh boy! CJ has only 6 days left of school. I remember how I cried on her first day of school, and now, I'm just as excited as a 6th grader for summer break. Is that selfish? I know CJ loves school. I am looking forward to letting them stay up later, sleep in, days at the park, afternoons downtown at the fountain, chasing the ice cream truck, camping, fishing, vacations, baseball games, fresh veggies out of the garden, the fair, back to school shopping, PYO farms, canning, did I already mention chasing the ice cream truck? I am so excited for this summer, we are going to have so much fun!

Crazy Hair Day!

The back viewToday is Crazy Hair Day at CJ's school. CJ and I got up extra early to do her hair. I was about half way done when I realized that CJ was still in her jammies. I knew that I needed to get a shirt over her head somehow. I had to undo a few just to get her jammies off and a tee shirt on. I sectioned her hair off into several pony tails, folded extra long pipe cleaners in half and worked them under the hair ties, braided her hair and the pipe cleaners together, then attached a bow at the base of the braids. Her hair is just a little longer than the pipe cleaners so she has these little blond curls off the ends. I think it looks rather good. There was a contest for craziest hair, CJ won for her grade! She won a Slurpee and M&Ms. When I picked her up the 5th and 6th graders were having recess and one of the girls stopped as she was running by and said "Congratulations CJ". CJ just beamed. I had to take it all out when we got home because she has a tee ball game tonight. I think it took me just as long to take it out as it did to put together.

My Silly's
Brian and CJ are so funny. They were outside playing in the backyard and Kyle's shop. I went out and they were wearing these giant rubber bands as head bands, sweat band style. They are so goofy. They were also collecting the rubber bands in cup and wrapping them around anything that they would fit on. I love this picture. They are so sweet with their arms around each other.

Update
It's Thursday, again. Here's the update: I lost another 3.8 pounds this week, for a grand total of 14.6 pounds! Yahoooooo! I'm so proud of myself. I've worked really hard. This last week was a little difficult, I really wanted to slip back into old, bad habits. I stayed strong. For motivation I looked up swimsuits, I tried on new pants, and reminded myself of all the work I've already done. I'm going to look at this week all new. I'm starting this week with new vigor. I'm am ready to lose more.

Charlie
Brian loves his new bear (Charlie) so much he sleeps with him. Brian puts Charlie, his bat, ball, glove, and hat in the "house" and then he puts Charlie in, and pulls the whole box up into bed with him. He falls asleep cuddling a box with a bear in it! It's too funny.

Update
I told you that I wasn't going to let last weeks small loss get me down. I came back like a fighter this week! Down another 2.6 pounds for a total of 10.8 pounds! I've lost MORE THAN 5% of my total body weight. Uh huh, oh yeah, alright! Ok, I'm done bragging. I've done my victory lap, back to work. Thank you.

Look What I Won!!
A Chicken!
That's the email I sent to Kyle. I've been bugging Kyle for about 2 years now for chickens. I want chickens so bad. Now that CJ's had an allergy test, we know she's not allergic to them, he's out of excuses why not. We were out for a walk when one of our neighbors wanted to show us their new chickens. Brian loved them. CJ didn't really care. Heidi (neighbor) came up with the idea of sending Kyle a message that we won a chicken from a radio contest. He didn't freak out! I think I'm one step closer to getting my chickens.
