Summer Reading Kick Off

Last night was the Summer Reading Kick Off at the Library! In the auditorium they had set up several arts and crafts tables and then of course the table to sign up for the summer reading program. We first made mosaic tiles. We were the first ones to do that craft. CJ and Brian were in such a hurry to get all the crafts done that they finished their tiles before the volunteers were finished setting it up! CJ carried her tile to the helper and said, "Where do I put this to dry?" She said something about how fast CJ and Brian were, CJ said, "Yes. I don't waste time, where's the finger paints?"

Next they finger painted. It was messy, but somehow my the grace of God they didn't get any paint on their clothes!! Yippee!

We then moved to drawing.

Then we made origami butterflies. I don't have picture of that because I was involved with helping Brian make his. Then by the time we got home, my darling children had crushed their butterfly's in a horrible butterfly collision in the car.

Before we left, we had one last thing to do. CJ got her very first Library card!!! Brian so desperately wants one. I told him he has to be able to sign his name on the back first. For weeks now he's been refusing to practice his "B". Last night he wanted to start practicing his "B" right then and there! I told him we have to practice at home, and when he can write his name all by himself he may get his very own Library card too. He's pretty excited!
