Last night, I mean, this morning at 3am, CJ woke up and stayed awake, keeping me awake, until 6am!!! Then Brian woke up at 6:30. So when Brian woke up early, I woke up CJ too. I usually let her sleep in if he wakes up early, but I was angry, and tired. My morning wasn't the best as you can imagine. I did make behavioral charts for both of them. I promised them a quarter per sticker at the end of each week. Seriously, they can earn up to $3/day. So far, Brian has earned 2 stickers out of an available 5, CJ's only earned 1. It helped me calm down this morning to make the charts. Plus CJ loves chore/behaviour charts.
During lunch today it was quiet as could be, and out of nowhere CJ looks over to Brian and says, "Brian, I love you." and Brian stops eating and says "I love you, Sis." I was so shocked! Usually when one professes love to the other, the receiver sees it as a sign of weakness and starts an argument. When I needed it most they showed me I'm not a terrible Mom after all.
However, right now as I type this very post it is nap time. Brian is snoozing comfortably in his room. I'm watching CJ is do yard work. I'm going to make sure she is good and tired tonight!
