So Tired
yaaaaaaawn. I'm so tired. CJ is not sleeping at night, so, I'm not sleeping either. CJ has been sick. When she gets sick her asthma kicks into high gear. The poor girl is coughing all night and can barley breath during the day. I'm giving her albuterol, and I have the humidifier in her room constantly going with Vicks Vaposteam. She is finally starting to feel better. She's been so heart broken that she can't go to school. She really misses her friends and teachers. We did go to the library last night for story time. CJ seemed really happy to go. I'm hoping today is our break through day. I don't have too high of expectations, we are expecting another inversion. Inversions are never good for CJ's asthma. OH, I hate this weather!!

CJ's Lunch

Today CJ went to lunch at McDonald's with the PTO president, her Principal, and the other top sellers of the Fall Fund Raiser. CJ and her friend Melissa were the top sellers for their grade! They took Rod's Limo. Rod's Limo is driven by a Rod Stewart impersonator. As soon as CJ got out of the car she said to me, "There's so many seats in there!" Then she told me about the TV. I asked if they watched TV, she said "Oh Yeah" in an awed voice. Keep in mind McDonald's is about a 1/2 mile from her school. I asked what they watched, she said they watched the dog movie. When I took the picture she refused to let me wash her face, and she would NOT smile.

Brian's New Scarf
Last time we were in CDA my SIL, Julie, loaned Brian a scarf for a day of sledding. Brian REFUSED to take off the scarf he liked it so much! It was a very simple design. I have yards and yards of fleece, (thanks Mom!), all I had to do was buy the buttons. Brian helped me pick out the buttons. It has one little button that holds the scarf on, and two little buttons to keep the pockets (yes! pockets on a scarf!!) closed. He loves it! He wanted to wear it before I even had the last button on. I had to chase after him after he pulled it off the table and ran off with it while I was re-threading the needle!

I Finished!
Yesterday I started making a quilt for my neighbor. She just had a baby girl on the 7th. The back is just a solid blue paisley. I started yesterday after nap time and finished today before dinner. I think it turned out really well. I'm washing it right now. I think I'll take it over tomorrow. I hope she likes it.

Hooray For Smarty Pants Theresa!!
Hip Hip Hooray!! I tricked my kids into eating something super healthy! Butternut squash soup! I really wanted butternut squash soup for dinner. I didn't think the kids would like it all that much. I made them pb&j sandwiches, fruit, milk; and then I poured a little of my soup into little 1 cup bowls for them. I first tried to get them to eat it with a spoon. I couldn't get either of them to even try it. Then I tried to get them to dip crackers, CJ did that and liked the soup. Then I asked Brian if he wanted to drink it like it was juice. I took his spoon and crackers and gave him a straw (of course CJ wanted one too). It worked like a charm! My kids ate pureed butternut squash with nutmeg, onion powder, and salt!! YAY!!!! They had protein in the peanut butter, fruit, dairy, and veggies. Mom got a little swell of happiness that she didn't have to fight at dinner time!

Photo Tag, oh what a mess!
I was tagged by my SIL, Suzi. You must take these pictures of these things as they are! No cleaning, do you hear me? It will be fun to see what things really look like.
1. Laundry Room
Yup, it's a mess. laundry on top of the dryer I pulled out last night looking for my PJ bottoms, and the iron I used this morning.
2. Closet
It's our "Very Brady" his and hers closet
3. Fridge
I was just telling myself I need to clean out the fridge next Tuesday. (Wednesday is trash day)
4. Favorite Shoes
Yes, they are red patent leather! Kyle got these for me last Christmas. I love them. I get so many comments on these.
5. Self Portrait
This is me, after children. I think I looked slightly more sane before. ;)
6. Kitchen Sink
The stuff I didn't want to put in the dishwasher, but didn't feel like washing.
7. Favorite Room
My children's room. It's where all the cool toys are, not to mention the sweet BSU color scheme.
8. Bathroom
The mail is in front of the toilet because just as I pulled the mail out of the box on my way inside to pee after a long drive. Brian's PJs are there because that is where he thinks is a good place to strip in the morning. The heart shaped rug Kyle made for me on our very first Valentines Day.
On the left of the sink is a shower curtain I washed and need to hang, with my brush and glasses case on top of it. On the right is my travel bathroom bag, we just got back from a very quick trip up to CDA and I haven't put it away yet.
9. What are your children doing right now?
CJ is organizing her Barbie accessories.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Like My New Car?
It's a 2006 Honda Element. The color is officially called Kiwi, I call it, Gumby Green. We bought it from a private party seller in Coeur d' Alene. It was worth the drive. We paid about 1/3 the price that the Honda dealership in Boise wanted for one like it. It's a manual transmission, I have to get used to driving a stick again. I think my favorite feature is the back doors. The back doors can't open unless the front is open!! My darling children learned how to turn off the child safety locks on the Volvo, so it was like I didn't have any at all, and at any moment a back door would fly open! The back seats have a lot of leg room, which means my children will no longer be cramped with their boots on. It sits higher than the Volvo and is lighter weight. I really like it. Honda makes a tent that can go off of the back that I'm trying to convince Kyle that we need it. I think it would make camping more comfortable. The back seat fold down and then up to the sides and the front fold down flat so that 2 people can sleep comfortably in the car. Sweet huh?
The Very Late Christmas Post
Santa brought CJ and Brian new bikes. Santa brought Mom and Dad a little relief, we don't have to haul the bike trailer anymore! Grandma and Grandpa Nunn got them this sweet Fisher Price game called the Smart Cycle. It's a bike/video game that you have to connect to your TV, to play the games the kiddos have to peddle the bike. It's totally sweet, Mom even rode the bike for one game. Grandma and Grandpa See bought them some super sweet and warm PJ's. Brian got a camera and CJ got a kid tough MP3 boom box. They are such super kiddos.
A little later in the day I got to video chat with my Sister and Mom and Dad. My Sis is in Germany and my Mom and Dad are still in CDA. It was nice to still spend a little of Christmas with my family.
For dinner Kyle made Prime Rib. What we had with it, I don't remember. I just remember the sweet yummy-ness of the Prime Rib. Oh, I take that back! I made Maple Glazed Sweet Potatoes. I got the recipes from my SIL, Kaylynn. She made it for Thanksgiving and they were so yummy I was dieing to have them again.
Thank You for all the 2008 memories and hopefully 2009 will be just as great!
