Playing in Mud....

So I thought it would be a good idea to take the kids off Theresa's hands for a while so that she could can some peaches. I went out back and noticed that there was water in the ditch. I thought our watering season was over. So I turned on the pump to see how well the water would pool over the ground that I tilled last weekend (really I was hoping everything would be good). Well, after about an hour the kids and I went to check and see how it was coming. Well, wouldn't ya know it but I blinked and the kids looked like this. Well atleast they had fun. Brian was even fishing in one of the larger puddles.

Norm This One's For You

On the walk home from school CJ decided she wanted to take a few pictures. She took about a zillion pictures of flowers, flowers, and more flowers. She was very purposeful about each picture, she didn't just snap away willy nilly. She would kneel down and fiddle with the camera and decide what angle she wanted, then she would click. I can't wait until we can give CJ her birthday present, we found a simple digital 6mp point and click camera perfect for her!

This morning was the Open House for CJ's Preschool. She did fantastic. During the morning announcements she was quiet and listened!! Who knew that could happen, but lightening doesn't strike twice. During free play she tried out all the fun stuff in the classroom, she met several of the other students. Circle time was difficult for CJ. She likes to be front and center and when they were initially sitting in the circle she didn't know where the front was. After Mrs. Reddy sat up front she was in the back. She kept getting up and trying to position herself up front between twin brothers. Mrs. Reddy had to tell CJ many, many times to sit still. Mom, I know you are reading this right now with a big smile that says, ha ha ha it's Theresa's turn now! When it was time to go she did NOT want to leave. Mrs. Waybright had to tell CJ that they had to get ready for another class. CJ was mostly ok with that. On our walk home we met another girl in her class that lives just on the next street over.





When I got home I called Kyle to tell him all about it. It's been an ongoing joke since CJ was born and I fell madly in love with her, that on her first day of school it was going to be me that has separation anxiety. So when I called Kyle I bragged that I didn't cry once. His response was, "That's because you didn't leave her". So then I called Becky to tell her the same thing, her response was, "Well you didn't leave her". I think they may have a point. Tuesday is going to be an emotional day for at least one person in this family.





CJ, your Mom and Dad are very proud of you. You are a strong smart girl, you are going to do excellent in school.

Hair Cuts

CJ and Brians personal stylist (Aunt Toot) came over last night to give them hair cuts. I thought Brian definitely needed it. The last few weeks I've been getting a lot of comments from strangers like, "You have really beautiful daughters" or "Oh look at those cute little blond girls". That was a sign to me that Brian needed a trim. While Brian was getting a cut I thought CJ should have a starting school hair cut. Despite all the wiggles Suzi gives fantastic cuts. She is so patient with the kids and she is fast. Wow. THANK YOU SUZI!

CJ's Visitors

This morning CJ had a home visit from her Preschool Teachers, Mrs. Waybright, and Mrs. Reddy. Pronounced like, "wow that light is WAY BRIGHT, and Reddy is pronounced like Ready. So there you have it. CJ met them outside and on the way in she was telling them all about the garden and her chalk art. She loved loved loved having her teachers in her house. CJ didn't want to sit still the whole time they were here. Brian just was happy to have an audiance to dance for.

!!!NINTENDO!!!

Kyle got me a super fantastic birthday gift. Kyle got me a Nintendo, not a new wii, but an old school 1984 Nintendo! He even bought me the gun and the Mario/Duck Hunt game! CJ loves the Duck Hunt game, she's not a bad shot either. Brian likes the idea of the Duck Hunt game, but he won't aim the gun. He just sort of holds the gun and he'll shoot the floor, the ceiling, the wall, but most defiantly not the tv. Below is a video of CJ playing Duck Hunt.

On Thursday we took the kids to the library for story time. They do a book, a song, another book, a 15 minute cartoon, and then another book. All through the first book Brian could not hold still. He was jumping and dancing all over the place while every other child sat quietly and listened to the book, INCLUDING CJ!!! When the Librarian started the music, Brian froze, and stayed that way. This is the video. You can just barely see Brian hiding behind the girl with the dark hair, CJ is the one in the crazy hat, naturally.
